This peony is orange-yellow of color, an intersectional hybrid (a cross between a shrubby and herbaceous plant). It has the foliage of the shrubby peonies, but certainly the color and strong agreeable fragrance of them. As the stems are somewhat woody, they tend to transport water more difficult than the herbaceous varieties. For this reason the stems are stripped of all foliage so they’ll need less water and the flowers will remain fresh on the vase for a normal amount of time. It opens very fast and thus more intented for special occasions, but a very attractive, conspicous peony totally different from the usual peonies.
